Landmark Credit Union Live is here. The new 4,500-capacity concert venue, located next to Fiserv Forum at 1051 N. Vel R. Phillips Ave., will host its first show (Rainbow Kitten Surprise) this Friday. A community preview event is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. tonight.

The venue is operated by Madison-based FPC Live, which is owned by Frank Productions, which in turn is owned by Live Nation.

The first floor features the stage, a large pit area, and an elevated back area. There are three bars in that back area, along with a handful of tables and chairs.

There’s no shortage of “Milwaukee” stuff on the first floor, including a nod to Drum’s Hollow / Lake Emily (a.k.a. that secret downtown filled-in lake) and a photo booth in the form of an old-school TYME machine.

Upstairs there’s a swanky “Vinyl Room.” Access to the Vinyl Room isn’t included in general tickets prices; instead, it’s included in a VIP membership program. There’s a ton of Milwaukee music memorabilia here, including albums, posters, and photos of groups like Violent Femmes, Die Kreuzen, and Soul Low.

Also upstairs: tons of balcony seats, box seats, and stadium seats. Luxury suites and boxes are also available via the VIP membership program.

And there you go. Here are some quotes from a press release:

Joel Plant, CEO, Frank Productions: “The opening of Landmark Credit Union Live marks an exciting milestone for Milwaukee and its growing music scene. This venue is an investment in the city, driving long-term growth and energy downtown. It will provide a vital space for artists to grow between clubs and arenas, while delivering unforgettable, high-energy experiences for fans night after night.”

Andrew Newport, Regional Vice President of Operations, Live Nation: “We built Landmark Credit Union Live to be a place where fans can truly lose themselves in the music and have an unforgettable night out. From favorite local bites and craft beer to the art and design touches that celebrate Milwaukee, every detail reflects the spirit of this city. And behind the scenes, we’ve created welcoming spaces where touring artists and crews can relax and feel at home the moment they arrive.”

Cavalier Johnson, Mayor of Milwaukee: “Milwaukee is justifiably proud of its performing arts scene, and Landmark Credit Union Live is a splendid new addition to our city’s lineup of entertainment venues. Yes, Landmark Credit Union Live will attract notable performers, and, at the same time, it will encourage new activity and development along Vel Phillips Avenue and Deer District. I offer my enthusiastic welcome to this new ‘Landmark.’”
