Remember that part in Twin Peaks where Cooper says “When two separate events occur simultaneously pertaining to the same object of inquiry, we must always pay strict attention”? Of course you do. Well, if the object of inquiry is “lyric videos,” we’ve got a perfect example of Cooper’s quote right here.

In the last 24 hours, two Milwaukee artists have released lyric videos for their newest songs. And, incredibly, those songs happen to be our current favorite Milwaukee-made songs. How about that!

First up is The Hallelujah Ward‘s “Manageable Oblivion.” It’s from the group’s upcoming EP I Forced Myself To Live, Charlie Bee, due October 11. The song features drummer Dan Didier delivering a relentlessly driving beat, and frontperson Mark Waldoch delivering fantastic lyrics before letting ‘er rip, Waldoch-style, in the closing moments. It’s perfect. (We’ll have more on the EP later this week.)

Next is Caley Conway‘s “Singing Never.” It’s from Conway’s upcoming LP Partner, due October 25 on Crutch of Memory Enterprises. The song is a highlight amongst highlights of the album, and finds Conway dreamily pondering the pleasures of the morning and the inevitability of life’s twilight. And in this case, all via balloons, courtesy of video creator Ridley Tankersley. It, too, is perfect. (We’ll have more on the LP later this month.)

And there you go! Two separate events occurring simultaneously pertaining to the same object of inquiry! Listen to Milwaukee music!
