Caley Conway meets (dreams?) a time-traveling robot in “Heart Of Liquid” video

Like billowing clouds or wisps of smoke, dreams often drift into the songs of Caley Conway. Take 2022’s Only A Dark Cocoon, for instance, a Joni Mitchell-inspired EP that includes the lovely “All Good Dreamers.” The title track to 2021’s Bliss Or Bust, meanwhile, finds Conway “on nightmares and all a-jitter at the job” before she manages to “get home, get loaded and drift off.”

Conway’s upcoming record, Partner, is full of dreams, too. Need proof? Behold the video for the lead single and leadoff track, “Heart Of Liquid.” The gorgeous sci-fi-inspired clip—created by Ehson Rad of Sahn Productions—features Conway nodding off and encountering a mysterious robot with a power ring for a face and what looks like an old Lazer Tag vest strapped to its chest. From there, Conway is off on a time-hopping head trip that may or may not be a dream, but is definitely worth dropping in on.

Partner will be released October 28 on Crutch Of Memory Enterprises. We’ve heard the record, and we love it. We know you will, too. You’d have to have a heart of stone not to.
