Last year, the start of the COVID-19 crisis forced Milwaukee County’s beer gardens to delay the start of their seasons until mid-summer. Though many stayed open deep into fall and South Shore Terrace creatively kept the beer garden fun going deep into winter with its awesome chalets, Milwaukee County Parks is surely itching to make the most of their spaces this year, now that safety protocols are in place and the (hopeful) end of the pandemic seems to be in sight.

Monday evening, County Parks announced two of its beer gardens—South Shore Terrace in Bay View and Whitnall Beer Garden in Greendale will be opening later this month. South Shore’s first day of the season will be Wednesday, April 14. Whitnall will follow one week later, with an expected April 21 opening. Of course, with the pandemic still very much a part of life, the safety policies they implemented last year remain in place.
