It’s been more than two years since beloved ramen hotspot Red Light Ramen closed its doors on Farwell Avenue. But a recently announced pop-up will not only bring Red Light back to its original home on the East Side, it will do so on Black Friday.
Last week, chef and owner Justin Carlisle announced that Red Light Ramen will return to its original location in the former Ardent space, 1751 N. Farwell Ave. The pop-up is scheduled for one night only, Friday, November 28, starting at 10 p.m.
“Red Light Ramen is returning HOME to 1751 North Farwell! ” reads a recent Instagram post. “Starting at 10pm on Black Friday (11/28) following regular dinner service, get in line for noodles, snacks (whipped spam anyone?!) and boozy slushies, of course. Mushroom miso and tonkotsu ramen, plus all your favorite late-night bites. When we’re out, we’re out!”
Ardent closed in December 2024. The Farwell Avenue space is currently occupied by Purslane, which is hosting the Red Light pop-up.
Red Light began as an after-hours, weekend-only dining takeover of Ardent. In 2016, Carlisle opened Red Light in its own space next door and expanded its hours.
