Pabst Brewing Company traces its origins back to a Milwaukee brewing company founded by Jacob Best in 1844. If our math is correct, that would make Pabst…175 years old! And hey, our math must be correct, because Pabst Milwaukee Brewery & Taproom has just announced four new craft beer styles and some limited-edition merch to celebrate the big anniversary!

Yes, Pabst Milwaukee Brewery & Taproom (located on the corner of Juneau Avenue and 11th Street) is set to unveil Name Day Chocolate Ale (featuring “the same distinctive chocolate aromas reminiscent of a birthday cake”), Dodransbicentennial Sour (that means 175 years!), Pabst Oktoberfest (to be released October 5 at Pabst’s 175th Anniversary Oktoberfest Block Party, natch), and a “TBA secret collaboration beer.” As for anniversary merch, expect limited-edition goodies like “stickers, keychains, wearables, pint glasses, a collaboration with Oxford Pennant & Drink Tank, and finally a commemorative holiday beer stein.”

All beer and merch will only be available at the Pabst Milwaukee Brewery & Taproom. Follow them on Instagram for release dates and more information. (Name Day is pouring now.) Oh, and the taproom will be serving Pabst classics like Andeker and Red, White, & Blue, too.

PABST MILWAUKEE BREWERY & TAPROOM CELEBRATES THE 175TH ANNIVERSARY OF PABST BREWING CO. WITH LIMITED RELEASE BEERS & MERCHANDISE

MILWAUKEE (JUNE 10, 2019) – Pabst Milwaukee Brewery and Taproom plans to unveil several new Milwaukee exclusive craft beers along with a limited-edition merchandise line to celebrate Pabst Brewing Co.’s 175th Anniversary.

Available only in the Pabst Milwaukee Brewery and Taproom, (located on the corner of Juneau Avenue and 11th Street), the taproom will unveil Name Day, Dodransbicentennial Sour, Oktoberfest, and a TBA secret collaboration beer. These four new craft beer styles will be exclusive to the Milwaukee taproom and available for take home in a commemorative golden crowler or enjoyed on the taproom premises in draught.

Name Day Chocolate Ale was first brewed at the experimental microbrewery and taproom on the birthday of Captain Frederick Pabst – March 28. Brewed with Ghana cacao nibs, Name Day Chocolate Ale gives off the same distinctive chocolate aromas reminiscent of a birthday cake. Despite its dark body (27 SRM), the beer is an ideal summer companion. With an ABV of 4.5 percent and an IBU of 12, Name Day is a true “session” beer. Take one home in our commemorative golden crowler.

Dodransbicentennial Sour (meaning 175 years) is a berliner-weisse fruited sour that is brewed with real strawberries and rhubarb. With an ABV of 3.8 percent and an IBU of 11 it is a refreshing summer beer perfect for the patio. This celebratory sour represents the forward thinking mentality that encapsulates the future of Pabst Brewing in Milwaukee while also honoring its past.

Fall in Milwaukee would not be complete without Oktoberfest celebrations and the same goes for the Pabst Oktoberfest release taking place on October 5th during Pabst’s 175th Anniversary Oktoberfest Block Party. This beer uses premium Munich malts combined with high quality German hops to create a smooth, full-bodied German lager.

In addition to these four styles, the taproom will also be serving several Pabst Brewing Co. classics brewed on site, including Andeker and Red, White, & Blue.

The Pabst Milwaukee Brewery and Taproom will also celebrate 175 years by launching a variety of limited quantity 175th anniversary themed merchandise, including stickers, keychains, wearables, pint glasses, a collaboration with Oxford Pennant & Drink Tank, and finally a commemorative holiday beer stein. Each item will be limited to 175 pieces each, making each one an instant collectible. These items will ONLY be available at the Pabst Milwaukee Brewery & Taproom and nowhere else in the world.
