Back in 2014, Milwaukee comedian Ryan Lowe’s “Stand-Up Cinema” injected MST3K-like movie commentary from local comics, as well as elements of stand-up, sketch, and self-shot video vignettes to such film classics as The Goonies, Back To The Future, and Indiana Jones And The Raiders Of The Lost Ark at Times Cinema. Following a few successful and sold out showings, Lowe shelved the series to focus on other comedy projects. However, after close to three years away from the silver screen, Lowe and Times Cinema will revive Stand-Up Cinema in grand fashion.

May 11-13, Lowe and his comedy cohorts will reconvene at the Milwaukee theater to take The Room to task. The famously terrible 2003 film written by, directed by, produced by, and starring Tommy Wiseau has been called “The Citizen Kane of bad movies,” and has enjoyed a sustained second life as a cringe-inducing cult classic. Now you can see the film you wish you’d never seen before in a way you never will anywhere else.

Tickets to the Thursday, Friday, and Saturday screenings are $15 apiece. All screenings are at 8 p.m. If the source material the comedians have to work with is any indication, this is going to be incredible.
