You asked, we listened: Behold our Milwaukee Boat shirt, available now at Milwaukee Merch!

If you haven’t been following the saga of the Milwaukee Boat, here’s a quick rundown: On October 13, the owners of a 33-foot Chris-Craft Roamer boat named “Deep Thought” beached the vessel after it ran out of gas. No one was injured. The boat ran ashore between Bradford Beach and McKinley Marina, just south of Moosa’s restaurant. It’s been sitting there for more than a month. In that time, it’s become something of a Milwaukee Thing. People have been making pilgrimages to the boat. Someone put an “I Closed Wolski’s” sticker on it. Someone set up a sound system and had a one-person dance party in it. Occasionally there’s a ladder. We love it.

Yes, the city, the county, the state, and the U.S. Coast Guard are aware of the boat; yes, the owners have hired (at their expense) a commercial towing and salvage company; and no, that company has yet to get the damned thing out. Crews were busy trying to tow the boat on Saturday, to no avail. (Asked what was next for the operation, a crew member simply told us, “Not sure!”)

But whatever: we have a shirt now, so we hope the thing stays there forever!

Like many of our shirts, our Milwaukee Boat shirt was designed by illustrator Andy Tyra. It’s a Bella + Canvas unisex T-shirt, and it’s available in black, navy, and true royal. It’ll put you back $25.50 for a S-XL, and $27.50 for a 2XL or 3XL. Get one HERE.

Here’s a quick design video, courtesy of Andy. And yeah, we’re rechristening it the S.S. Milwaukee Record. Maritime law and all.
