UPDATE (10/23/24): Still there!

Have you heard about that boat that ran aground near Bradford Beach—just south of MooSa’s restaurant on Lincoln Memorial Drive—and has just been sitting there for a week? Weird, isn’t it? It’s kind of a non-story, but it’s also kind of…fascinating? Intriguing? Just random enough to justify swinging by the location on Friday and taking some photos?

Let’s go with all of the above. According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, U.S. Coast Guard officials say the totally sweet Chris-Craft Roamer boat was “abandoned Sunday after its owners ran out of gas.” No one was injured. And since the stranded craft doesn’t pose any pollution threat and doesn’t appear like it will float back into Lake Michigan any time soon, officials say they, along with a commercial towing and salvage company, will get around to moving it “by the end of the week.” (“The boat’s owners will be responsible for hiring and paying the towing company,” adds the JS.)

Well, it’s Friday, and the thing is still there. Huh! Here are 14 weirdly captivating photos of that boat that ran aground near Bradford Beach and has just been sitting there for a week. Have a great weekend, Milwaukee!
