Milwaukee Record is working in partnership with Urban Cat Coalition—a local organization that’s dedicated to creating a no kill community by humanely reducing the cat population in the Milwaukee area through targeted trap-neuter-return (TNR)—to help find loving homes for area cats. Each week, we plan to highlight a feline friend that’s currently up for adoption by naming it “Milwaukee Record’s Cat Of The Week.” This week: a sweet gal named Gertie.
Meet Gertie. Oh, sweet Gertie! This gal has had a hard time of it as of late. Her person recently passed away, with no family to take over her care. She was quite scared until her foster mom came along to show her a little kindness.
Her ideal home would keep her as an only kitty—let’s just say she is not a fan of other cats—and would be patient for her to come out of her shell. She loves soft beds, gentle pets, and being told how pretty she is. She is polite and prefers her treats from a bowl (as opposed to your hand).
Once you earn this gal’s trust, you will have a new best friend.
