In addition to the dozens upon dozens of great festivals, block parties, and seasonal music series happening in and around Milwaukee between now and the end of September, one Madison-based happening has recently come to our attention and captured our interest.

On Saturday, September 28 and Sunday, September 29, The Great Midwest Hemp Fest will bring two days worth of entertainment, education, and activism related to marijuana legalization in Wisconsin to James Madison Park in Madison. So why are we writing about something happening in Madison? Well, we can write about anything we want to, first of all! More importantly, despite its distance from here, the festival will have a major Milwaukee presence in the form of local vendors and musicians taking part in this year’s Great Midwest Hemp Fest.

Over the course of the two-day event, area businesses like RA!, The Tabease Company, and Turning Leaf will sell cannabis-derived products on-site. Meanwhile, a wide range of Milwaukee artists will perform at the festival, including dak duBois, Dreamhouse, The Keystones, Micah Emrich, and NilexNile. Heck, there will even be a Comedy Kickoff on September 27 that will feature Mike Kobin and Justin Leon from Milwaukee in its lineup.

If you’re looking to have some fun in the state’s capital this September while enjoying some familiar flavors, feelings, and sounds, we highly recommend you save the date for The Great Midwest Hemp Fest (or buy discounted early bird tickets now!). You can check out the full entertainment lineup below.
