As we recently walked through the Menomonee Valley (where we harvest our grain), we took a look at the entertainment lineup for mid-October and realized it was very plain. Well, except for “Weird Al” Yankovic’s “Bigger & Weirder” show at Fiserv Forum on Saturday, October 17. So you know what that means…

Yep, it’s time for Milwaukee Record‘s fourth (!) Weird Al Week! YES YES IT’S ALL TRUE WE JUST DON’T KNOW WHAT’S WRONG WITH US!

What’s Weird Al Week all about? Well, how about a week’s worth of Weird Al events! Well, we have a Weird Al vinyl spin at Wiggle Room on Tuesday (stop by!), a screening of UHF at the Avalon on Wednesday (a few tickets are still available!), a UHF afterparty at Sugar Maple on Wednesday night (stop by!), Weird Al trivia and karaoke at Sugar Maple on Thursday (stop by!), a Wheel Of Fish Happy Hour at Sugar Maple on Friday (stop by!), a Superb Market at Sugar Maple on Saturday afternoon (stop by!), and a “Bigger & Weirder” afterparty at Sugar Maple on Saturday night (stop by!) WOW. THAT’S A LOT OF STUFF. (Also: there’ll be Weird Al-inspired art on display at Sugar Maple all week long! Stop by!)

And yes, there’ll be Weird Al articles on this here website all week long, too. Fun! But before we get to those, here’s a required reading list of everything—and we mean everything—we’ve written about Weird Al in the 12-year history of Milwaukee Record. We count 39 incredible articles: goofy thinkpieces, random lists, in-depth show reviews, and career-defining interviews with Al and his band! So dig in! And happy Weird Al Week to you and yours!

(This year’s Weird Al Week is dedicated to the memory of Rob Wieland. You are missed, sir.)
