Anyone else remember USA Up All Night? You know, that old USA Network show from the ’90s where they showed old B-movies from the ’80s? Hosted by Gilbert Gottfried and Rhonda Shear? Yeah, that show was great. Anyway, the latest track from Milwaukee producer Dashcam, “Blue Eyes,” would be a perfect fit for the end credits of roughly 90% of the films they used to show on Up All Night. If you’re looking to relive a misspent youth filled with edited-for-basic-cable versions of films like Malibu Bikini Shop and Squeeze Play, you’re in for a treat.

And if none of the above applies to you, you’re still in for a treat. “Blue Eyes” comes courtesy of Dashcam’s upcoming Dreamwave EP (due soon on limited edition cassette from Gloss Records), and follows the release of an earlier single, “Fire Escape.” Over a neon-drenched, ’80s-kissed synthwave backdrop, NO/NO’s Cat Ries turns in a beguiling vocal performance complete with hooks aplenty and a dreamy spoken-word interlude. Close your eyes and you can almost see the VHS tracking lines.

Dashcam will kick off Gloss Weekend Friday, May 19 at the Cactus Club. Before that, get lost in “Blue Eyes” below.
