Urban Beets, the vegan cafe and juicery that first opened in Milwaukee in 2016 and later expanded to Wauwatosa and Brown Deer, announced Monday that it will close its Wauwatosa location (3077 N. Mayfair Rd.) on June 30. The original Milwaukee location closed in 2020. The Brown Deer location (5091 W. Brown Deer Rd.) will remain open.

“With regret, Urban Beets has decided to close its Wauwatosa operation effective June 30th,” reads a social media post. “We’ve enjoyed our stay in Tosa and are so appreciative of all our patrons and team members throughout the last few years. Our mission was to bring more plant-based goodness to the community, and to be an ethical and healthy option for all. We’re grateful for having had that opportunity. The choice was very difficult, but financial considerations have required us to make this difficult decision.”

The post continues:

Our Brown Deer location remains open, and we would love and appreciate your continued support of our operation there. We have a lot of awesome things planned, which will include being open nights again soon. We’re also excited that we will be joining Milwaukee’s tradition of Taco Tuesdays! So, stay tuned for these exciting new things happening. It’s a great location with a beautiful patio and a larger dining area. We look forward to seeing our Tosa friends there, and you’ll be met with a few familiar faces from our Tosa staff who have joined our Brown Deer team.

Until June 30, the Wauwatosa location will be open Monday and Tuesday 8 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.; Wednesday through Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.; and Sunday 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
