Has it really been six years since High Dive opened in the old Impala Lounge/River Horse space at 701 E. Center St.? And—good lord—has it really been a year and a half since High Dive closed to the public due to COVID-19?

The answers, of course, are YES and YES, though there’s finally some good news in relation to the second YES. High Dive owner Jason McBrady tells us the popular Riverwest watering hole will fully reopen for business on Friday, July 23, at 4 p.m. How about another YES?

This Friday isn’t arbitrary: it coincides with the beginning of the Riverwest 24, which is the same event High Dive used as its opening event way back in 2015. Fun!

In a “choose your own adventure”-style twist to this year’s RW24, there’ll be no scoring, no manifests, and no leaderboard. Just show up (no registration or fee required), complete up to 100 bonus checkpoints (or not), and do whatever you want! Wanna ride the full 24 hours? Do it! Wanna ride for 20 minutes! Do it! “No laps, no registration, no manifests, just Pure Holiday,” says the event description.

Oh, but be sure to stop in at High Dive and spend approximately $8,000,000, too. It’s been a long year and a half. WELCOME BACK!
