Hey! Do you like drinking? Do you like drinking in parks? Then you’re in luck, because Milwaukee County Parks’ ever-popular Traveling Beer Garden is returning for 2023. YES.
The beer/park extravaganza will once again feature two converted fire trucks serving a host of Sprecher Brewery beers and root beers (plus other selections from City Lights, Lakefront, and Eagle Park) at a number of county parks between May and September. Hours are 5-9 p.m. Monday-Friday, and 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Free Sprecher beer and root beer will be available (while supplies last) on the first day of every stop.
As always, all revenue from the Traveling Beer Garden goes to improving Milwaukee County Parks. Here’s the schedule!
• Greenfield Park: May 17-29
• Froemming Park: May 31 – June 11
• Cooper Park: June 14-25
• Grant Park: June 28 – July 9
• Lake Park: July 12-23
• McCarty Park: July 26 – August 6
• Doctors Park: August 9-27
• Sheridan Park: August 30 – September 4
As you can see, the 2023 schedule is a slightly streamlined version of past schedules, ditching the two simultaneous “tours” in favor of a single list of dates. (Also, Juneau Park isn’t on the list, because it’s apparently cooking up something special for the summer.) But worry not! In addition to the usual brats, sausages, hot dogs, and Milwaukee Pretzel Company soft pretzels offered by the Parks Department, food from a number of food trucks will also be available this year.
Oh, and here are some tentative openings for some other (non-traveling) beer gardens. Cheers!
• South Shore Terrace: Wednesday, April 12
• Estabrook Beer Garden: Week of April 10
• Whitnall Beer Garden: Friday, May 5
• The Vine Humboldt: Thursday, May 25
