Printmakers. You see their work promoting upcoming events on coffee shop cork boards, utility poles, and store windows. Perhaps you’ve purchased a limited edition print at a concert, comedy show, or makers fair. Hell, maybe there’s a framed print hanging in the very office cubicle or bedroom where you’re currently reading this article. While digital art has made good old fashioned printmaking a little more scarce of late, Milwaukee (and the surrounding area) is still well-represented by skilled creatives who are keeping this important and timeless art form alive.

On Saturday, October 19, two dozen Midwest-based printmakers will showcase their handcrafted work at a Bay View brewery during an event known as Ink Curds. The annual happening return to Enlightened Brewing Company (2020 S. Allis St.), where artists will display their work—including textiles, posters, prints, fabric, and experimental prints—and have many of their creations available for purchase from 12-6 p.m. Of course Enlightened will have beer (and a wide selection of N/A beverages), and Sweet Smoke BBQ will also be serving food on-site.

There is no cost to attend Ink Curds. You can see a list of the 24 participating printmakers below.
