Every Wednesday at noon, Ryan Schleicher, Evan Rytlewski, and Matt Wild take to the WMSE airwaves to discuss all things Milwaukee. This half-hour fun-fest is called The Disclaimer, so named because none of the oft-ridiculous views expressed on the show necessarily reflect the views of the hosts’ employers. Milwaukee music, Milwaukee art, Milwaukee events, and D.I.Y. lawn care tips are frequently discussed—and rarely agreed upon. The Disclaimer: talk radio for the sane.

Longtime and sometimes-divisive Milwaukee promoter Peter Jest has been putting on shows at his East Side club, Shank Hall, for over 25 years. He has been booking big-name shows at other venues, too, like 2013’s Leonard Cohen show at Milwaukee Theatre. He has also been unafraid to share his opinions—especially ones about a certain talk show called The Disclaimer. After years of irate phone calls and emails, Ryan, Evan, and Matt welcome Jest to the show in order to discuss the many things the public—as well as the hosts—get wrong about club ownership and concert promotion. Jest addresses the “overblown” rumors of his testy relationships with other Milwaukee promoters, discusses how Shank Hall fits in the local music scene, and speculates on ways to improve Summerfest. No punches are thrown, no one storms out of the studio, and everyone learns something in the end.
