Do you guys remember Cousins? No, you say? That’s cool, since the short-tenured band post-punk band called it quits roughly two months after releasing its entirely great first/final record…and 30th best Milwaukee album of the 2010s (so far) album, Bathhouse, in 2013. No matter, though, since a portion of the fragmented shoegazers wound up in the cast of Blonder.

Following the release of its seven-song demo in 2013 in the wake of Cousins’ demise, Blonder is preparing to put out its official debut EP, Yellow, at Riverwest Public House on Saturday, February 21 during a show also featuring NO/NO and Los Angeles band Corners. Before the release show (which begins at 9 p.m. and costs $6), listen to the title track of Blonder’s first formal release—a bleary song reminiscent of a country drive on a rainy spring afternoon. Or maybe it’s just a really good song regardless of situational context. You be the judge when you stream “Yellow,” only at Milwaukee Record.
