Mel Brooks Double Feature: ‘The Producers’ and ‘To Be or Not to Be’
Jewish Museum Milwaukee double feature screening will celebrate Mel Brooks’ parodic genius and ability to break a taboo through satire.
WHAT: Jewish Museum Milwaukee will open their doors Wednesday, June 21, 2023, to the public for a screening of two Mel Brooks films. The double feature will include the original 1967 film The Producers, showcasing Brooks’ parody of Hitler, and the lesser-known 1983 remake of To Be or Not to Be.
Attendees can enjoy the screening and view the DEGENERATE! Hitler’s War on Modern Art exhibit. Docents will be available from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. to answer questions about the exhibit and give short tours.
The screening is open to the public. JMM Member tickets are available for $5. Nonmember tickets for $12. Admission to the museum and DEGENERATE! exhibit is included in the ticket price. Doors open at 4 p.m. for people who want to take in the Degenerate exhibit prior to the screening. Tickets may be purchased online or in-person at Jewish Museum Milwaukee.
