In early 2023, Milwaukee Record hosted an unconventional event at Promises (R.I.P. Promises!) based around the almighty beer sleeve. “The Great Milwaukee Can Koozie Swap” brought dozens of folks—including a few people from out of state!—and their can koozie collections out for an afternoon of koozie buying, selling, trading, and appreciating. It was a great time! Since it went so well, we brought it back that same fall…except with a “Bar Chip Bonanza” element incorporated as well. It was crazy and very weird in the best way.

It’s been a while, so we figured it’s about time we run it back. Join Milwaukee Record and Lakefront Brewery at Club Garibaldi (2501 S. Superior St.) on Saturday, February 14 for another installment of “The Great Milwaukee Can Koozie Swap & Bar Chip Bonanza.” From 1-4 p.m., we’ll have some tables set up in the back room of the bar to serve as a makeshift marketplace where people can make some koozie-related transactions.

Don’t have any koozies? We’ll give you one from our koozie box just for attending. Heck, take two! Dale On Sale will also be there selling some of their unique koozie designs and printing designs on your koozies on-site for a small charge. Speaking of small charges, Club Garibaldi will offer specials on Lakefront Brewery beers for the duration of the event.

But there’s more! Give us a drink chip—from ANY bar, restaurant, or brewery…even places that are no longer open or located nowhere near Milwaukee—and we’ll let you spin our prize wheel for a chance to win prizes like Lakefront Brewery swag, Milwaukee Record merch, your choice of treasures from “The Prize Pile,” and more. Don’t have any bar chips to trade? Spins can also be purchased for $2 apiece.

Oh yeah, there’s NO COVER for this event. Just bring your koozies, some drink chips you don’t plan to use, and some wing/beer money to Club Garibaldi on Saturday, February 14 and let’s make some deals! We dare you to think of a better way to spend Valentine’s Day.
