This past Sunday, thousands of Milwaukeeans flocked to the MSOE Kern Center for WMSE‘s 14th annual Rockabilly Chili Fundraiser; several hours later, they all went home and found a nice place to curl up and think about what they had done. But seriously: the 2016 installment of the radio station’s insanely popular and awesome chili blowout was one for the books, featuring more than 50 Milwaukee restaurants, cafes, and caterers serving up a cavalcade of chili samples to the masses. Live music, chili pepper races, and beer once again rounded out the fun.

So who were the big winners of this year’s Rockabilly Chili? Glad you asked. Per WMSE:

Meat: Vanguard
Veggie: Riverwest Co-op
Heat: McBob’s
Best Firehouse: Station 37
Most Unique: Hue Restaurant
Display: Brewed Cafe

For the record, here were our predictions:

Meat: Vanguard or Real Chili
Veggie: Beans & Barley
Heat: McBob’s
Best Firehouse: Station 37
Most Unique: Smoke Shack
Display: Brewed Cafe

Hey, not bad! Congrats to all, and see you next year, chili fiends!
