LAKEFRONT BREWERY LAUNCHES THEIR RIPPLE EFFECT GIVE BACK PROGRAM

Lakefront, a Certified B Corp™, partners with Groundwork Milwaukee for their inaugural charitable drive.

MILWAUKEE (April 25, 2023) – As a Certified B Corp™, Lakefront is dedicated to business as a force for good. B Corps™ are companies that go through a rigorous certification process that evaluates a business’s entire social and environmental impact and who are committed to accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Lakefront Brewery is excited to be launching a new charitable program called the Ripple Effect. Located right on the riverfront, they see the water that flows and connects the different parts of the city, rippling into Lake Michigan, the jewel of Milwaukee. Far more interconnected than they are separated, they believe local actions can make big waves of changes for global good.

“Lakefront Brewery has a long-standing tradition of giving back to the community, and as a Certified B Corp™ we wanted to organize our giving in a way that focuses our impact on B Lab’s 3 pillars of change: Climate Justice, Racial Equity, and a Stakeholder-Driven Economy,” says Kelsey Moses, Lakefront’s Excise Tax & Compliance Director and B Keeper. “Our efforts also consider the U.N.’s 17 sustainable development goals for peace and prosperity for people and planet.”

Lakefront is partnering with Groundwork Milwaukee for the month of May with a crowler donation program much like their ongoing “Putin is a Dick” efforts for Ukraine. These Groundwork Milwaukee labeled crowlers will cost an additional $5 which Lakefront will match for a $10 donation each. Additionally, this Sunday April 30th, from 11am to 3pm, Lakefront will be hosting a donation and supply drive fulfilling Groundwork’s wish list to support their efforts in helping the community in need. Those that donate items can enjoy a free Lakefront beer at the brewery.

“We decided to partner with Groundwork Milwaukee because they’re a local organization that creates green spaces through community partnerships,” says Liz Mauritz, Ripple Effect Program Lead. “They work to transform brownfields into community spaces and with Lakefront Brewery being situated on a remediated brownfield, this work is close to our hearts. Groundwork educates, trains and empowers the community protecting urban waters through rainwater harvesting structures, green infrastructure, and habitat restoration. They also recently released a Milwaukee Flood-Health Vulnerability Assessment and spent the last year developing and installing green solutions in areas which are vulnerable to flood and extreme heat.”

Lakefront’s Groundwork Milwaukee crowlers are available starting today while supplies last through the end of May, order ahead online or in person! Most any beer on tap can be put into a crowler.
