On Monday, Milwaukee folk/superhero Milverine announced he would be throwing out the first pitch at Tuesday’s Milwaukee Brewers game at American Family Field.

“Yes, hi guys, this is the Milverine,” Milverine said in an Instagram post. “Now tomorrow night, Tuesday, August 22 at 7 p.m., I will be at American Family Field to throw out the first pitch when the Milwaukee Brewers take on the Minnesota Twins. I will have no problem throwing the ball to the catcher because I grew up playing baseball and I was a pitcher.”

On Tuesday (not coincidentally, “Marvel Super Hero Night” at AmFam Field), he indeed had no problem at all. And even though he initially sported a personalized Milverine jersey, he tore that sucker off and did it shirtless, of course. Watch the action below, courtesy of Brewers superfan Laura Hemming. (Thanks, Laura!)

Milverine—real name John Frank Hamann—has been a Milwaukee character for more than a decade, famous for hoofing it around town sans shirt, and for bearing more than a passing resemblance to the X-Men’s Wolverine. Hamann has been the subject of countless social media posts, videos, news reports, songs, beers, bobbleheads, and even cat-themed Christmas cards. Dude is also a huge opera fan.

Hamann has been active on Instagram for the past year or so (@milverinefrank), documenting his endless jaunts through the city with his dog Princess. If you’re not already following him, do yourself a favor, guys, and follow him NOW. He always deletes his Reels, so get on it!

In a personal postgame report, Hamann had nothing but great things to say about his first-pitch experience, American Family Field, the Brewers organization, and Milwaukee in general. Bless you, Milverine. Thank you for your service. (It just occurred to us that he totally walked to the game last night, didn’t he?)
