On Friday, June 21, as Summerfest was in full swing at Henry Maier festival Park, a group was gathered at nearby Veterans Park to witness a spectacle that’s, well, a little tough to put into words. A long-running Polish culture magazine called Przekrój came to town to unveil “Baby You Milwaukee,” a floating art exhibition that featured a 112-foot-long hot air balloon shaped like a sleeping infant and an accompanying choral performance that aimed to remind onlookers of the “untapped potential within all people waiting to be awakened.”

We sent our field correspondent Bert Lauderdale to Veterans Park to get some footage of the happenings and to chat with some of the folks who came out to see a gigantic baby balloon in action. You can watch his “BertAlert” below.
