It’s been a minute since we checked in with Brett J.B. Back in 2021, the Milwaukee singer-songwriter dropped “Make You Move,” an “open-hearted indie-power-pop anthem about breaking through the drudgery of the day and making a connection with another human being.” Now, in 2024, J.B. is mining a similar musical and emotional vein with “So Damn Happy.” It’s as open-hearted as they come.
“Sometimes you get so used to seeing someone feeling low, that it’s a shock to see them authentically laugh and smile,” J.B. explains. “‘So Damn Happy’ is a bittersweet pop rock song that explores the effects of depression in a relationship.” Take a look/listen…
Like J.B.’s previous work, “So Damn Happy” was produced by the artist collective Meltwater Pulse. The track was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Shane Olivo. As for the J.B.-directed video, does it feature footage shot at the Domes? You bet it does.
