There are approximately 8,000 stages on the Summerfest grounds, but only one of them can claim to be the festival’s “smallest.” And no, we’re not talking about the kids stage at Northwestern Mutual Community Park, which is actually kind of big due to the space needed to accommodate David Seebach’s Wonders of Magic. We’re talking about the American Family Insurance House, located just behind the Mid Gate Fountain.

Since 2019, the stage/house has been home to intimate, acoustic, and FREE performances from acts who are playing bigger stages later in the day. The stage/house is set to return in 2023 with sets from Jenny Lewis, Digable Planets, Yung Gravy, The Pretty Reckless, and more.

“Access to the performances are FREE at the American Family Insurance House on a first come, first served basis,” explains Summerfest. “New this year, no pre-registration is necessary, fans can line up one hour prior to the start time of each show outside the American Family Insurance House. The first 50 people in line will also receive the opportunity to experience a post-show VIP meet and greet with the artist.”

The American Family Insurance House will be open from noon until 8 p.m. each day of Summerfest. Oh, and you can enjoy some customizable merch and a photo booth while you’re there, too. Last year we made a fanny pack!
