The history of Summerfest is chock-full of infamous shows—the time George Carlin got arrested, for example. One of the more recent examples comes from 2013, when bombastic rock band Imagine Dragons played the Miller Lite Oasis stage and 8 trillion people showed up, forcing Summerfest to wave in approximately 5,000 of those people for free. The word “riot” was tossed around a lot. It was kind of scary. And for Imagine Dragons, no less!

The group’s 2018 return to Summerfest was less eventful, but who knows, maybe Imagine Dragons’ just-announced headlining slot at Summerfest 2023—Saturday, July 8 at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater—will be another glorious disaster? Never discount the power of a 10-year anniversary, and/or the “Yankovic Bump.”

Anyway, tickets for the closing-night show (featuring opener AJR) go on sale Friday, November 18 at 10 a.m. at Summerfest.com, Ticketmaster.com, and at the Summerfest Box Office.

Summerfest 2023 is once again set for three Thursday-Saturday blocks, June 22-24, June 29-July 1, and July 6-8. Zac Brown Band is already set for June 23.
