Last spring, Okilly Dokilly, “the world’s only Nedal band”—a.k.a. a Ned Flanders-themed metal band—helped unofficially christen Cudahy’s newly-opened X-Ray Arcade when they headlined an unforgettable show at the young venue.
Just over a year removed from the last time the Phoenix, Arizona-based band delighted the all-ages arcade with original music that was loaded with “direct Ned quotes” during a performance that “weaved together comedy and brutality,” Okilly Dokilly will return to X-Ray Arcade for another show.
Today, Okilly Dokilly released a new single and announced dates for its upcoming “When The Comet Gets Here Tour.” Thankfully, the glorious and guttural gimmick won’t be missing metro Milwaukee during the Midwest leg of the tour. Put on your finest green sweater and make room for some white wine spritzers when Okilly Dokilly returns to X-Ray Arcade on Saturday, May 2.
Local support and tour support haven’t been announced yet, but does it really matter?! They had us at “Ned Flanders-themed metal band.” Tickets are on sale now. Cover for the 7 p.m. affair is $15 in advance (or $18 the day of the show, while available).
