Has it really been more than three years since Fox Face released new music? While the Milwaukee garage rock quartet’s pre-pandemic show schedule gave them a continued presence in the local music scene, it might surprise some to realize they hadn’t put anything out since 2017’s Spoil + Destroy, an excellent record that earned high standing on our Best Milwaukee Albums list that year.

Since releasing the impressive debut full-length on Dirtnap Records, Fox Face been hard at work writing, refining, and recording material for another album. Having sat on that carefully-crafted material long enough, the band is now getting ready to put another album out in the world. Fox Face is planning to release that long-awaited sophomore effort, End Of Man, via Dirtnap Records on January 22, 2021.

Last month, Fox Face formally announced End Of Man, by releasing a spooky music video for lead single, “Not Your Home.” Today, the band is treating listeners to another preview of the record in the form of a brand new single. “Slow Burn” features all the chugging guitars, screeching solos, pounding percussion, and infectious hooks you’ve come to know and love from Fox Face.

End Of Man was recorded and mixed by Kyle Motor and mastered by Justin Perkins of Mystery Room Mastering. You can pre-order the album now. While you wait for what’s sure to be one of 2021’s best Milwaukee albums, you can stream “Slow Burn” below. And if you want more, you can watch a video of Fox Face’s “There’ll Be Some Changes Made” cover, which they re-imagined and performed for our Public Domain series in 2018. That song will also appear the forthcoming 12-song album.
