It’s that time of year, folks: Pumpkins! Pumpkin spice! Leaves! Scary movies! That old Garfield Halloween special where he fights ghost pirates or something! Oh, and spooky music! And spooky local music!

So let’s enjoy some new Halloween-appropriate tracks from two Milwaukee artists, shall we? Up first is the always fantastic Fuzzysurf. The tireless indie-rock group recently released a typically terrific video for new single “Sucky”; now, Fuzzysurf has unleashed a moody, synth-tinged ditty called “Happy Halloween.” It doesn’t get much more Halloween-y than this:

Now for a Milwaukee group that knows a thing or two about the spooky season: The Quilz. The long-running musical project of Becky Heck and Sage Schwarm has plenty of synth-y/goth-y tunes in its arsenal, and the new “Vampire Blues” is another fine example. It’s a cover of an old Neil Young song, and it’s actually about oil, but whatever. It’s a great Halloween track!

Oh, and why not, here’s an absolute banger from Peeper & Le Play that was released last Halloween, “Dead Party.” Happy Halloween, Milwaukee!
