In a Summerfest announcement that’s somehow even more Summerfest-y than The Avett Brothers playing the Big Gig, ’80s rock gods Def Leppard will headline the 2025 festival on Thursday, June 19, at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater. And what’s more, Tesla will open the show!

Tickets go on sale Wednesday, December 18 at 10 a.m. at Summerfest.com and Ticketmaster.com, or in person at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater Box Office. The entire Hysteria album still rules, by the way.

SUMMERFEST!

Summerfest 2025 will take place June 19-21, June 26-28, and July 3-5. The festival drew 555,925 attendees in 2024, down from 624,407 in 2023. In 2022, Summerfest drew 445,611 fans. In 2021—a late-summer installment and the first year of the nine-day, three-weekend format—409,386 folks showed up. Summerfest 2020 was canceled due to COVID. Summerfest 2019 drew 718,144 attendees. At the time, the 2019 attendance was Summerfest’s lowest in more than 30 years.
