Spin Doctors. REO Speedwagon. Atmosphere. Cheap Trick. Luke Bryan Zach Combs Brian Luke Zach or whatever. These are just a few examples of (perfectly wonderful!) artists that seem to play Milwaukee’s annual Summerfest all the time. (Shout-out to local stalwarts like Pat McCurdy, Sigmund Snopek, and David Seebach’s Wonders of Magic.)

Add to that list The Avett Brothers. After playing recent Big Gigs in 2023 and 2019 (and an Alpine Valley show this past August), the tireless folk-rock group will headline the BMO Pavilion on Thursday, June 26, during Summerfest 2025. “This is the first of nine headlining artists to be announced at the BMO Pavilion during Summerfest,” says a Summerfest press release. (And yes, The Avett Brothers’ 2023 Summerfest show was also a headlining slot at the BMO Pavilion.)

Tickets for reserved seats go on sale Friday, November 15 at 10 a.m. Get them at Summerfest.com, Ticketmaster.com, or in person at the Summerfest Box Office.

“Concerts at the BMO Pavilion during Summerfest will once again offer seating options for all evening headlining performances,” explains Summerfest. “Fans will have the choice of reserved seats available for purchase or free general admission seating on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the show with a Summerfest ticket.”

Previously on Summerfest ’25 Announcements, country artist Lainey Wilson was announced as an American Family Insurance Amphitheater headliner. She’ll also play on Thursday, June 26.

Summerfest 2025 will take place June 19-21, June 26-28, and July 3-5. The festival drew 555,925 attendees in 2024, down from 624,407 in 2023. In 2022, Summerfest drew 445,611 fans. In 2021—a late-summer installment and the first year of the nine-day, three-weekend format—409,386 folks showed up. Summerfest 2020 was canceled due to COVID. Summerfest 2019 drew 718,144 attendees. At the time, the 2019 attendance was Summerfest’s lowest in more than 30 years.
