And the “X summer festival will return after two years” news just keeps comin’: Yes, the lil’ street fest that could, Center Street Daze Festival, announced yesterday that it will return to Center Street (obviously) on Saturday, August 13, from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. The Riverwest block party was canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to you-know-what.
“SAVE THE DATE!!!” read a short-and-sweet Facebook post. “Saturday August 13th 11-7pm. The festival is happening.”
Interested vendors can sign up HERE. Interested bands and musicians are encouraged to “please reach out to the individual establishments, as they coordinate their own stages.” In the past, those establishments have included Company Brewing, Club Timbuktu, Quarters, the Uptowner, and the Jazz Gallery Center for the Arts.
Center Street Daze began in 1997. It’s organized by the Riverwest Neighborhood Association, and takes place on Center Street between Holton and Humboldt. In addition to music, food, and vendors, the fest is known for its pushcart races and its classic car show.
Other summer festivals, including Locust Street Festival (June 12), Summer Soulstice (June 18), and Fromm Petfest (September 24) have announced their 2022 returns in recent days. Summerfest will be back, too, June 23-25, June 30 – July 2, and July 7-9.
