Milwaukee’s annual Polish Fest has been canceled. Again. Because of COVID-19. Again.

The 2021 installment was scheduled for June 11-13 at Henry Maier Festival Park. “Looking Forward to A ‘Summer of Fun in 2021,'” reads the not-yet-updated Polish Fest website. Sigh.

“After much consideration, we have made the difficult decision to not hold Polish Fest June 11 to 13,” said Steve Chybowski, President of the Polish Heritage Alliance, in a press release. “Planning was on track for this year; however, at present, COVID-19 is currently a part of everyone’s lives, we believe the best decision is to not hold Polish Fest this year so early in the summer to allow for more vaccinations to the broader community. Our Festival Committee and our Board of Directors reviewed many options. We believe this is the best decision for our attendees, volunteers, entertainers, and vendors…our entire extended ‘Polish Fest Community.'”

Sigh.

In other depressing Henry Maier Festival Park news, Festa Italiana 2021 has been canceled. German Fest 2021 has been canceled. Summerfest has announced it will move to September. PrideFest has canceled its June dates, but hopes to move to a later time.
