It has all come down to this. Following a month-long competition that found a field of 64 Wisconsin State Fair fixtures facing one another in five heated rounds of voting, our Wisconsin Fair Bracket field has dwindled to just two remaining fair favorites. Over the course of the tournament, approximately 32,000 total votes were cast. There was some campaigning for votes, a fair number of upsets, and lots of Cream Puff-related opinions being thrown around. Now that the dust has settled, we’re now left with a Final Round matchup very few could have envisioned at the beginning of the competition: Pat McCurdy vs. the Wisconsin Products Pavilion.
With the help of voters, McCurdy—the leading vote-getter so far—breezed through the Entertainment Region before demolishing Food Region winner Roasted Corn in the semifinals. Meanwhile, Wisconsin Products Pavilion cruised through the Agriculture & Retail Region and toppled Miscellaneous Region representative Celebrity Sightings in the semifinals to earn its place in the Finals.
