One of the 8,000 Milwaukee events to be canceled in 2020 is the WMSE Backyard BBQ. Sadly, the station won’t be throwing its annual free concert in Humboldt Park this summer; happily, they will be throwing a virtual “BBQ In Your Backyard” instead. Fun!

Tune in to WMSE’s website, Facebook page, Instagram page, or YouTube channel on Saturday, August 29 at 3 p.m. and enjoy past performances from the likes of Alejandro Escovedo, Old 97’s, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades, Sonny Knight & The Lakers, Los Straitjackets, Paul Cebar, The Grovelers, Split Lip Rayfield, and The Koch-Marshall Trio. “Don’t forget to post a picture and tag yourself #wmsebbq partying it up your backyard to win a WMSE Backyard BBQ fun pack!” says a press release.

“The Backyard BBQ has always been a great free concert we put on for our listeners because they are the best in the world,” says Station Manager Tom Crawford in the release. “While we can’t do it in person this year, we are still excited to give our listeners an event to remember and the opportunity to catch their favorite performances from past years. Get ready ’cause we plan on seeing you next year in Humboldt Park!”

And hey, here are Old 97’s playing last year’s BBQ!
