Back in January, a unique show took place at a unique location. Social Cig and Wave Chapelle—a.k.a. two of Milwaukee’s best and busiest musicians—played a co-headlining show in the cozy confines of Riverwest Radio. The show was produced by The Show on Riverwest Radio, a locally focused radio show and podcast. How did the Cig/Wave show turn out? See/hear for yourself, courtesy of this wonderfully produced video! (Spoiler alert: it was great.)

The show was originally intended as an MTV Unplugged-esque night of music, though things didn’t exactly turn out that way. (The Show’s Kyle Albertson tells us “It wasn’t quite unplugged, so we’re gonna have to change the name, but it was a really special night.”) Unplugged or not, there are plenty of highlights: Chapelle closing his set with the always-great “Victory”; Parker Schultz of Social Cig nicely pulling off a backing-track-assisted set before going really unplugged.

Wave Chapelle is set to play a free, inaugural show (along with ADORNER) at the new Vivarium venue on February 20. Social Cig, meanwhile, has a couple of open-mic hosting gigs on the calendar before a big show at The Cooperage (with Gold Steps and Triptych) on March 2.
