Death, taxes, top-shelf offerings from Milwaukee DIY electro artist LUXI. These are the three constants in life. Let’s talk about the third one (thankfully).

LUXI—a.k.a. Alexandre Maxine Hill—has been a consistent presence in the Milwaukee music scene since 2013. Her output has included numerous LPs and EPs, oodles of singles, plenty of videos, and even her own video game. The last time we checked in with her, she had collaborated with Lauryl Sulfate on the terrific “Basement Show.” Now, LUXI is out of the basement and radiating the Valentine’s Day spirit with a new song and video, “Call Me.”

“I created this first single ‘Call Me’ during winter of 2021, during a period of unexpected isolation,” LUXI says of the woozy, sparkling single. “It’s the first single from my upcoming EP Dream Girl.” A new EP, you say? We can’t wait.

Until then, we have only two words: DREAM PHONE.
