We’re currently leaving the dog days of summer behind and entering those hazy, slightly melancholy days of summer. You know, late summer. So what better time to enjoy a new song and video from hazy, slightly melancholy goth/post-punk/coldwave Milwaukee two-piece Genau?
“Bronze Age” finds Genau members Erik Gosnell and Chris Belkofer in a mournful and minimal mood. “It’s gone / I see right through / I see it right before my eyes / Wrong that we do” goes the refrain. The video, too, is cold and blurry and layered and languid. Again, perfect for these late-summer days.
The new song follows 2025’s gloomy “Live By The Water” and “Margaret In Dub” singles, as well as other releases stretching back to 2016. In 2026, meanwhile, Genau will play the Falcon Nest on Friday, August 14, with Romantic Assassins and DJ Keso. Be there! It’s getting late, but summer ain’t over yet.
