Believe it or not, we’re creeping up on five full months of the Milwaukee Boat. The 33-foot vessel—dubbed the S.S. Milwaukee, the S.S. Minnow, the Minnow, Deep Thought, or just The Boat—was ran ashore between Bradford and McKinley beaches on October 13. It’s been there ever since.

Anyway, ahead of the big five-month anniversary (the six-month anniversary will be one day before Milwaukee Day!), Milwaukee Record‘s own Matt Wild chatted with Wisconsin Public Radio “Morning Edition” host Alex Crowe about the Milwaukee Boat. Discussed: the origins of the Boat, the ever-expanding lore of the Boat, necessary distractions in times of great political upheaval, and not being able to watch Jeopardy! without being bombarded by the worst commercials on planet Earth.
You can listen to Matt shoot the breeze about the Boat HERE (the discussion begins at the 6-minute mark), or you can read the interview HERE. And don’t forget about the Boat song, by Milwaukee Record‘s own Tyler Maas!
