The beloved Milwaukee Boat™ has been beached and stranded between Bradford and McKinley beaches for a full month now. Owners of the 33-foot Chris-Craft Roamer ran it aground on October 13, after it ran out of gas. The U.S. Coast Guard determined the stranded boat posed no environmental threat, and has thus left the thing alone. A commercial towing and salvage company—hired at the owners’ expense—attempted to remove the boat in mid-November, but failed. At one point, some dude did a DJ set on it.

And now, perhaps inevitably, the thing has been tagged. We snapped this photo of the boat on Monday morning:

And this is what we found on Tuesday morning:

Yeah, it’s a reference to that “Ancient Aliens” meme, apparently. It’s kind of fitting, we suppose, since the boat’s actual name is Deep Thought, and Deep Thought was the name of the supercomputer in The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy that was designed to calculate the answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything. (Spoiler: 42.)

We’re not saying the tag is the work of the New Jersey drones, but it’s totally the work of the New Jersey drones:

But seriously: The “Aliens” tag appears to be the work of local artists Therd and Emork. We can tell because the tag’s style and theme are similar to those found on the duo’s mural on the side of that window tinting joint on Humboldt Avenue—a.k.a. the mural that used to feature Mrs. Incredible and her absolute dump truck ass.

Also, we can tell because they signed it:

And so the saga of the Milwaukee Boat™ continues. Do we, Milwaukee Record, bear some responsibility for this latest development? After all, we’ve written about the boat a couple of times in the past and have posted approximately 8,000 photos of it on social media. Is this alien-themed paint job partially our fault? Nah, we haven’t been that weird about it, and something like this was bound to happen sooner or later. And writing “Aliens” on the side of this long-stranded boat is kind of funny.
