UPDATE: LA BELLE AND GENEVA HAVE BEEN ADOPTED!

•••

Milwaukee Record is working in partnership with Urban Cat Coalition—a local organization that’s dedicated to creating a no kill community by humanely reducing the cat population in the Milwaukee area through targeted trap-neuter-return (TNR)—to help find loving homes for area cats. Each week, we plan to highlight a feline friend that’s currently up for adoption by naming it “Milwaukee Record’s Cat Of The Week.” This week: a bonded mother/daughter pair named La Belle and Geneva.

Meet La Belle and Geneva! This bonded mother/daughter duo is looking for a quiet and loving home together.

La Belle was living on the street with SIX kittens when she was rescued by UCC. She was absolutely skin and bones, but she was such a good mama. Once her kittens were weaned—and she gained a little strength from all the good food she was getting—she looked around and decided indoor life was pretty great.

La Belle and Geneva are ride or die and thick as thieves. They love to chase, wrestle, and roll around together. They love to jump around Cirque de Soleil-style for any kind of wand toy. La Belle likes to snuggle close to your face, while Geneva prefers being tucked up against your feet. Geneva is the TV watcher of the pair and especially enjoys any sport with a bouncing ball. She’s entranced!

The perfect home would be low-activity, with older children or adults only. When meeting La Belle and Geneva, they will likely act shy. This is only because you are new. Once they feel comfortable, they’ll love you completely!

These girls look forward to purring away, getting all snuggled up, and keeping you warm during the cold winter nights.
