Though it still seems very unlikely that Milwaukee will ever get an NHL franchise, the city will be hosting a professional hockey game this fall. On Sunday, October 2, Fiserv Forum will feature a preseason meeting between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Minnesota Wild. It will be the first NHL game to take place in Milwaukee since 1993. Tickets to the 6:30 p.m. game go on sale at 10 a.m. CST on Friday, August 5 and they can be purchased HERE. Here’s the full press release:

MILWAUKEE (Aug. 3, 2022) – Fiserv Forum will host its first NHL game on Sunday, Oct. 2, when the Chicago Blackhawks face off against the Minnesota Wild in a preseason matchup beginning at 6:30 p.m. CT. The game will be the NHL’s first in Milwaukee since 1993.

“We are excited to host the first NHL game at Fiserv Forum and welcome the return of NHL hockey to Milwaukee for the first time since 1993,” said Bucks and Fiserv Forum President Peter Feigin. “We look forward to hosting the Blackhawks and Wild as we continue to bring a variety of dynamic events to Fiserv Forum.”

“We are excited to bring the Blackhawks experience to our fans out of Chicago, and we can’t think of a better place to start than our incredible neighbors to the north,” said Jaime Faulkner, President of Business Operations at Chicago Blackhawks. “We’re hard at work designing a gameday fans won’t want to miss as the first NHL team to bring a game to Fiserv Forum in partnership with the Milwaukee Bucks and BMO.”

Tickets for the first NHL game at Fiserv Forum will go on sale to the public this Friday, Aug. 5, beginning at 10 a.m. CT and can be purchased HERE. The game is part of the Blackhawks’ “Home Away from Home” 2022 series presented by BMO.

Prior to puck drop on Sunday, Oct. 2, pregame celebrations, including Blackhawks celebrity appearances, live music, photo opportunities and more, will be held on the plaza at Deer District beginning at 3 p.m. CT. Doors to Fiserv Forum will open to ticketed fans at 5 p.m. CT.

In addition to October’s game being the first NHL game in Milwaukee since 1993, it will mark the first time the Blackhawks have played in Milwaukee since Dec. 1, 1992, when they played the Los Angeles Kings in a regular season matchup at the Bradley Center. The Bradley Center hosted NHL preseason and regular season games annually between 1988-93.
