Milwaukee Art Museum’s Lakefront Festival Of Art has always been one of the city’s classier summer festivals—no beer runs or zany street performers here! Still, per Milwaukee summer festival regulations, there will be plenty of beer, wine, and food to go along with works from over 170 regional artists, and a formidable lineup of great Wisconsin-sired music.
Unfortunately, you’ll have to wait until the summer of 2021 to enjoy it. Milwaukee Art Museum has announced that this year’s Lakefront Festival Of Art—originally scheduled to take place June 19-21—has been canceled due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. Here is Milwaukee Art Museum’s official statement.
“For fifty-seven years, the Lakefront Festival of Art has continued through pounding rain and scorching sun, straight-line winds and punishing heat. This year, because the health and safety of the Milwaukee community is our highest priority, the Museum has canceled Lakefront Festival of Art. We will miss seeing everyone gather on the Museum grounds—and look forward to celebrating the festival with you in 2021.”
