Though Monique and Chauntee Ross have been performing as long as they can remember, the dynamic duo of classically trained musicians that make up SistaStrings never had a year quite like they’ve experienced in 2019. This year, the Ross sisters toured, played on Klassik’s live American Klassiks album, and accompanied Nickel&Rose during some performances. Most notably, SistaStrings also released its debut EP—its tremendous Lift—that earned the project oodles of local praise and a pair of trophies at last weekend’s Radio Milwaukee Music Awards.
With SistaStrings’ most accomplished year coming to a close and what looks to be even better things on the horizon for the Ross siblings in 2020, the pair is going to send 2019 off in truly uplifting fashion with a new music video for Lift‘s closing track. The video for “Lift Every Voice” was shot when SistaStrings was recording their EP at Silver City Studios. Kelly Michael Anderson and Madeline J. Power filmed the in-studio performance and Silver City co-owner Josh Evert engineered the song. Watch the “Lift Every Voice” video below.
