Last year, Something To Do released two excellent music videos in support of its latest album, Here Comes The Panic. “Draw Me Like One Of Your French Girls” was a wine-fueled and sip and paint-inspired music video for a song written from the perspective of Kate Winslet’s character in Titanic. That was followed by a coffee-fueled virtual meeting-turned-violent in the “Sweet Caffeination” video.

With the bar for visuals now set extremely high, the veteran Milwaukee-Madison ska project called upon others to help make the band’s next video one with some staying power. Maybe “permanence” is a better descriptor. In direct opposition of the song’s name, Something To Do solicited footage from fans and friends for use in the “No I Don’t Want To See Your Tattoo” video. The band’s unorthodox request was answered in a big way.

“I wasn’t actually all that sure if we’d get many submissions, but we ended up getting a ton—way more than we could use—which was pretty dang gratifying,” says Something To Do vocalist/bassist Nate Tredinnick. “Also, now I have maybe more images of peoples butts than I needed.”

The band then combined the best (and least butt-centric) videos they received with footage of them performing the song at Iron Fist Tattoo in Bay View. Eoin McCarthy from Milwaukee band Bellends is also in the parlor getting inked up by the shop owner’s son Zevian. Come for the wide range of listener-sourced tattoos, stay for the downright catchy ska sounds, and watch the “No I Don’t Want To See Your Tattoo” video below.

And be sure to catch Something To Do at X-Ray Arcade alongside Flatfoot 56, The Crombies, and The Malones on Friday, March 14.
