If you aren’t caught up in the buildup for Field Report’s second album, Marigolden, you clearly aren’t paying attention to the Internet. Chris Porterfield and company have premiered songs from the record on sites like Stereogum and TIME, and have been receiving a healthy (and well-deserved) heaping of hype from the likes of NPR and others. It may not be on the level of a “Weird Al” media blitz, but it’s close.

Now, The Wall Street Journal’s “Speakeasy” blog has premiered the video for Marigolden single “Home (Leave The Lights On.)” In the video, Porterfield drives a beat-up pickup truck through rainy Door County, takes a dip in a hotel pool, does some go-kart racing, eats some custard, and hand scores a bowling game like a boss. Created by Milwaukee’s Blackbox Visual, the clip is perfectly evocative and enigmatic, just like the song it accompanies.

Marigolden is due October 7 on Partisan Records. A Milwaukee release show is set for October 22 at the Pabst Theater.
