If you’re anything like us, you’ve been waiting for Field Report to release the follow-up to its outstanding self-titled 2012 debut album (which earned the number two spot on our 50 best Milwaukee albums of the 2010s (so far) list) since, well, 2012. Well, good news! The wait is almost over.

This morning, Field Report posted a short promo video to Instagram that revealed the name of its follow-up (Marigolden) along with an October 7 release date. Bassist Travis Whitty also posted another promo video that shows the band in the process of recording the new album in a remote Canadian recording studio owned by Feist.

Marigolden will be put out by Partisan Records, home to acts like Sylvan Esso, Phox, and The Dismemberment Plan. Based on stripped-down renditions Porterfield has been playing at solo shows, this record is going to be incredible.
