Last month, we brought you the good news that Milwaukee Psych Fest would, at long last, be hosting its eighth installment this fall. Originally scheduled to take place in May of 2020, Milwaukee Psych Fest VIII was postponed on account of the COVID-19 crisis. It was rescheduled to take place November 19-20 at The Cooperage and the (great) lineup was announced in the process.

Sadly, psych rock fans will need to wait a little longer for the festival. Over the weekend, Milwaukee musician and Psych Fest organizer Andrew Shelp announced that growing COVID concerns have caused some artists to drop out of the event and, as a result, has made Shelp reconsider holding the festival this fall.

I’m sorry for the back and forth, but this seems like the most responsible thing to do at this point,” Shelp said in a Facebook post.

Today, he told Milwaukee Record Milwaukee Psych Fest VIII will now take place at The Cooperage May 26-29, 2022. Save the date, cross your fingers, get vaccinated (if you’re able to do so), and get ready for Milwaukee Psych Fest next spring.
